MichaelSneeringerJrAfter several summers working in pizza shops and waiting tables while at the University of Maryland, my father thought it would be a good idea to get a “real” job. It was 1984. Ronald Reagan was in the White House. Phil Collins, Van Halen and Paul McCartney were playing on the radio.

Soon I was servicing his life insurance clients at renewals, recommending policy changes and eventually selling all types of individual insurance products. After experiencing some success with this, I decided to transfer to the University of Baltimore and pursue a career in the family insurance business while finishing my degree at night.

Eventually I shifted from selling individual insurance policies and began focusing on the needs of local companies, looking for concepts and products that no one else was providing. That success led me to providing employee benefits exclusively.

Being part of a family business, I instinctively knew how to speak to other small business owners about what would and would not work for them and for their employees.

An employer’s transition of carriers, premiums and policies all too often can be extremely time consuming and intimidating. I help employers and their employees through personalized enrollment meetings, educating and easing their fears that comes with change.

I have been married for over 25 years and am the proud father of two. My son is a UMBC graduate with an IT degree and my daughter is a law student at the University of Tennessee after graduating from George Washington University.

I graduated from Mt. St. Joseph High School in 1981 and the University of Baltimore in 1987. In my spare time I coach lacrosse, and the hobby I am most passionate about is photography.
